Kizzy is not new to the world of hair styling; as a child she constantly practiced on her dolls and family members hair. Her passion for hair styling was further ignited in high school when she enrolled in a Cosmetology course. While in high school she began competing in and winning major styling competitions. She earned her cosmetology license and quickly built a loyal clientele enabling her to open Gems Hair Salon. After her own personal hair loss crisis Kizzy began to notice other women coming into her salon also experiencing hair loss that would not respond to normal treatment. ‘This Hair Crisis’ (also the title of her second book) and her love for healthy hair sent her on a quest to get to the root of the problem. Her quest led her to the world of trichology which quickly became her new love. Since becoming a licensed Trichologist, Kizzy has educated countless women on hair loss and restoration. Her vision is to help women achieve healthy hair and discover their beauty from the inside out.
Kizzy was born in Las Vegas, Nevada but was raised in Montgomery, Alabama and currently reside in Clarksville, TN. She is the mother of 3 beautiful daughters, Tierra, Diamond and Emerald. Kizzy is a God-fearing woman and a prayer warrior who enjoys serving in ministry and listening to gospel music. Kizzy has served faithfully in ministry since a little girl. She is very outspoken and enjoys preaching the gospel; motivational speaking, working with woman, business, traveling, shopping and spending time with family and close friends. Kizzy is delighted to serve on the board of BWM as the Chief Executive Director to help empower, reestablish, and reunite our community of color.
Kizzy received a prophetic word on March 25, 2020 through a prophet from the Lord regarding the expansion of open doors and new opportunities that she will serve in the likeness of a coordinator or project manager that will be coming her way soon and to be expecting it, because God has gifted her in business and administration she will greatly needed for the project. Shortly after that she ran into BWM through via fb and don’t even know how she even got there. After carefully reviewing and liking what BWM represented and was about she decided to lock arms in participate in what they were doing. Kizzy reached out to the President Arlesia Williams to get further details regarding the organization and their building plans and they both hit it off from there. I told her if they needed any help with anything and needed more board members just let me know and she said I was getting ready to call you anyway to ask you would serve as our Chief of Board of Directors and now here I am.
